3 TIPS FOR FINDING (AND EMBRACING) YOUR PERSONAL STYLE

Style isn’t just about what you wear. It’s how you express and empower yourself. The clothes on your back are just one of the many ways you convey that. A lot of times people try to put style in a box: trendy, preppy, formal, etc. – but like most things, no one’s style fits inside one little box.
3 Tips for Finding and Embracing Your Personal Style | Michelle Phan
With a lot of you starting class, internships and work, you be thinking of whether you should try to tweak your style for the new season. After all, you could use your back to school budget to completely overhaul your style, right? It’s tiring trying to keep up with what’s cool or embrace a style that’s not really you; it’s much easier to take time to come into your own and highlight your true self. Remember: this is your year. But if you’re not exactly sure what your style is in the first place, here’s a short 3-step guide to figuring it out!

How to Find Your Personal Style

Look for keywords, not categories – The terms above – trendy, preppy, formal – aren’t going to be complete representations of your unique style. They’re great categories for placing an outfit in, but you likely don’t rep them every single day. Instead, think of how you’d describe yourself, like daring, experimental, laidback. Let these words help you pull clothes off the rack for the dressing room. That way when you look at a piece, you can see whether it will embody your spirit, not put you in a box.
Make tweaks, don’t overhaul – Be real, how many of you want to start from scratch with your closet at times? I like to think of myself as always evolving, not completely transforming. As humans, it’s practically our jobs to change over time, slow and steady. Style works the same way. If you’ve changed from last year – you’re willing to take more risks, less into checking in with trends, hoping to come off as more mature – now is the time to find clothing that reflects that. No need to go too crazy, just add those words to your original list.
Put an end to the comparison game – Now is the time to be inspired, not envious. Your peers and coworkers’ styles, the blogger of the moment, street style inspiration on Pinterest, there’s a wealth of information out there. But once you stop being inspired and start making comparisons, it’s time to separate yourself form those sources. If you struggle with comparison, try this: the moment your mind begins to compare your look to the one on your digital feed, shut it down. Close your laptop or put your phone in your pocket. You can’t always remove yourself from the person sitting next to you, but when your comparison is digital, it’s best to try a little self-induced timeout. Before logging on, empower yourself with positive thoughts and self-love.

TIPS TO KEEP YOUR CLOTHES LOOKING NEW

Style is just as much about taking care of your clothes when you’re not wearing them as it is when you are. From laundry, to hanging your clothes, to ironing or steaming, there is a lot you can do to make your clothes last longer just by taking better care of them. Below are a few of my favorite ways to take care of my clothes, from start to finish.

  1. Wash your clothes in cold water and in a delicate cycle. Cold water minimizes shrinking and wrinkling, plus it’s more energy efficient. A regular wash cycle can agitate your clothes and break down the fibers (which can make your clothes look older faster) but a delicate cycle is more gentle on your clothes.
  2. Skip the heat. Especially with dark colors, heat makes colors fade faster so skip the dryer and hang dry those clothes with dark rich colors.
  3. Wash your clothes inside out. Washing your clothes inside out keeps colors from bleeding and fading as much and prevents buttons and zippers from snagging and ripping other clothes in the wash.
  4. Never skip the fabric conditioner. You wouldn’t skip conditioner after shampooing your hair, right? Same goes for clothes. I always use Downy Fabric Conditioner and love the way it smells! It protects your favorite pieces from stretching, fading, and fuzzing so they look newer longer. Plus is there anything better than the smell of fresh laundry?
  5. To hang or to fold? As a general rule of thumb, outerwear and linen, cotton, and rayon garments are always best on a hanger while knits should be folded.
  6. Steam. Whenever you can opt for steaming over ironing your clothes. It’s easier on your clothes than an iron and a must for delicate fabrics.

Investing in proper fabric care products is so important. You can always tell a difference between clothes that are taken care of and those that aren’t once you step outside. I’ve always been a sucker for stripes and Downy Fabric Conditioner is a must for keeping my black and white stripes from fading to grey and white stripes. ;)

TRAVEL BEAUTY EASY TRAVEL BEAUTY ROUTINE and Coupon Code 2016

clarisonic
Beauty Travel Essentials Hello Fashion
Mia Fit Clarisonic
Travel Skin Care Routine
Clarisonic Hello Fashion
DETAILS: CLARISONIC MIA FIT DEVICE
We are off on another trip this week (we never say no to the beach ;) and while traveling I like to simplify my beauty routine as much as possible. When it comes to packing, I’d rather use my luggage space for clothes and shoes (haha I am always pushing 50 lbs!!) so I scale down my makeup routine. Below are some musts for a quick, easy beach beauty routine.
  1. Stay hydrated: Between the poolside piña coladas or morning coffee to deal with jet lag, you might think you are getting enough liquids but don’t forget the water. Staying hydrated is beauty trick #101 for flawless skin.
  2. Clean face: The first step to a perfect beach beauty routine is a clean face. I have really sensitive skin so I lovemy Clarisonic. It’s so gentle but still gets that deep clean that leaves your skin smooth and radiant so you can get away with little to no makeup.  The Mia FIT is the perfect size for travel so it’s a no-brainer for any getaway.beautytravel3
  3. Falsies: I almost always get eyelash extensions before we head on a beach getaway. Since over half our time is spent in the water, bleeding mascara never looks good on anyone, so I go for semi permanent lashes that stay on for a couple weeks. It makes getting ready so much faster when you can skip curling your lashes and applying mascara.
  4. Moisturize: Chalk it up to years of living in the dry Utah desert, but I can never skip moisturizer. It gives your skin that healthy, dewy glow and you can get one with a tint for extra coverage and of course SPF (love this one). Enjoy Up To 10% OFF On Select Items With ebay 10 off coupon. Save on health, beauty, toys and more!!!
  5. Lips: Your lips need just as much attention as your skin does, so don’t forget SPF and moisturizer for your selfie-ready beach look. I swear by this one – it is so moisturizing plus comes in lots of different pretty but subtle shades for a natural look. (Tip: Use your Clarisonic to scrub your lips at night for that extra smooth pucker :)
  6. Hair: Between the beach and the pool, any effort you put into your hair might be short lived. Aside from the fail-safe messy top knot, you can’t go wrong with a pretty fishtail or half-up top knot for that easy beachy vibe. I always love to add a little texturizing spray to give it that beachy texture.

The sun has come out the last couple weeks and I have major Spring fever! I love incorporating that bright feeling into our home with fresh pastels and bright palettes. I wanted to share 5 easy ways to spice up your kitchen for  Spring:

Colorful plates: Whatever your current dishes, you can introduce some pretty pastels without having to completely replace your set.  Instead, pick out a few plates in a pretty spring hue and stack them to mix textures and colors for a perfect spring place setting.
Linens: Small details are such an easy way to transition your kitchen from season to season. Kitchen towels and linen napkins are one of those details – there are so many pretty options to brighten up your kitchen for spring. Love this colorful floral option and this pretty patterned set. Also love this napkin set and this teal set patterned.
Put it on display: Some of the best spring colors are the ones from the fresh fruits or vegetables around the kitchen, so don’t hesitate to display it in a pretty bowl! It doubles as a perfect centerpiece.
Fresh flowers: I will never say no to fresh flowers around the house, and spring makes it even easier. Whether it’s from freshly picked wild flowers or a pretty bouquet from the farmers market, they are the perfect addition to any kitchen. Love these pretty glass vases and how gorgeous cool is this one?
There are so many other great details that are an excuse to bring in some extra color to your space. It seems like with wedding season and all the registries ahead there are lots of great pieces coming out right now. I  love the selection at Anthropologie – they have so many cute things on their registry page I get a little carried away haha. But it works out because I always like to keep a couple gifts on hand for weddings, bridal showers, house-warming gifts, etc. Here are some of my favorites:
You’ve probably seen them on the blog or my Instagram before, but I’m obsessed with Anthropologie’s colorful bowls. Also love this patterned set.
Mugs make a great gift that everyone will use and love. Love this bright set and this beautiful teacup and saucer set.
Throws are another universal gift – who doesn’t love a cozy blanket? I’m a sucker for these faux fur throws and this patterned colorful blanket. I also just got this one and I’m obsessed with it – so cozy!
Stemmed glasses are one of those gifts that are guaranteed to be on just about every registry. I love this gold-rimmed colorful style (also here) – so chic!
anthro2
I just got this throw too. It’s so soft and I love all the textures on it. This was one of my favorite pics from our shoot I love how the flowers look against the green velvet!

How to find discount codes for everything you buy at eBay.com

You know the old saying: nothing ventured, nothing discounted. Or something like that.
If you buy a lot of stuff online, you've no doubt experienced the pang of longing that occurs when faced with a Discount/Promotion Code box on an e-tailer's checkout page. If only you had a code, maybe you'd save a few bucks. Or even score free shipping.
Before you click Submit Order, it pays to spend a few minutes code-searching. There might just be one out there waiting for you to copy and paste.
For example, I recently ordered a bunch of water filters from Filters-NOW.com. (Seriously, I buy everything online.) When I got to the checkout page, sure enough, there was the Promo Code box.
So I did what I always do: I opened a new tab, ran a quick Google search ("Filters-now code"), and looked for options from the various code-aggregating sites that appeared in the results: Coupon4Share, CouponCabin, Dealspl.us, RetailMeNot, Savings.com, and so on.

Sure enough, I found a 10-percent-off coupon--and it worked! My minute or two of searching saved me a total of $8.36--not a fortune, but certainly worth the effort.
Now, caveat searchor: this kind of code wrangling doesn't always pay off. Sometimes I don't even find a code for the store or purchase in question, and even when I do, it might be expired or invalid.
Find great deals & eBay Coupons 90% OFF Code, eBay Redemption Code on eBay store

But like they say, nothing ventured, nothing discounted. It never hurts to try. A few minutes of searching might just save you a few bucks--and maybe even more than a few. Give it a whirl the next time you buy.
And if you've scored a particularly awesome code just by searching, hit the comments and tell me how much you saved!

How to Find and Use Online Coupon Codes

While many savvy shoppers are familiar with achieving big savings by using coupon code 2016 available through most department stores, only 38 percent of American households report having used an online coupon when making a purchase from online retailers.
Online coupon codes offer consumers a chance to save money on their online purchases, just as paper coupons do inside traditional stores. Most shoppers who've never used an online coupon say they're missing out because they don't know how to find online coupon codes.
Stephanie Nelson, of www.thecouponmom.com, joined ABC News' "Good Morning America" to offer tips on how to find and use online coupons. Check out Nelson's tips below.
Understanding Coupon Codes: These codes can be entered in a "coupon code" or "promotional code" box on an online order form for most online retailers. The coupon code has a specific offer attached to it. Offers can range from free shipping to 25 percent off of purchases or more. Once the shopper enters the coupon code, the discount will be taken off the order form automatically. Coupon codes are not found on the retailer's own Web site. They usually are placed on other sites as a method of advertising to bring shoppers to the retailer's site.
Finding the Best Codes: Use a search engine, such as Google, Yahoo! or another you prefer, to do a search for the specific coupon you desire. For instance, if you're looking to buy something at Gap.com, you should search for "Gap Coupon Code." Hundreds of results will occur and it's up to you to find those that are most current. If you're not sure where you want to buy a specific item and you want to determine which retailer is offering the most savings online, do a search for simply "Coupon Code." This search will result in the most comprehensive coupon code Web sites. Major coupon code sites have full time staff that searches for and updates coupon codes daily. Specialty coupon code sites are geared to a specific audience, like mothers of young children, and will focus on retailers for their market.
Using Online Coupon Codes: When you find a coupon you want to use, just click on the provided link and shop at the merchant's site as you normally would. Before checking out, enter the provided "coupon code." Be sure to check that your savings are applied in your shopping cart before completing the order and keep in mind that coupon codes may expire at any time.
Maximizing Your Savings with Coupon Codes: Research and find the best coupon code sites for your retailers before you need to do online shopping. Select a few favorite coupon code sites and bookmark them so that you'll be able to save quickly when you need to shop online. Make it a habit to search your favorite coupon code sites for a coupon code before any online shopping order. Check online retailers and available coupon codes before shopping at the same bricks and mortar store. There may be more savings available online for the same merchandise. Plan and consolidate your purchases to reach minimum purchase requirements for free shipping. Subscribe to e-mail newsletters of favorite online retailer, which will frequently include short-term online coupon code offers in their newsletters. Lastly, subscribe to e-mail newsletters from your favorite coupon code Web site for up-to-date codes and special retailer offers.

Here's an example of how you can save more by combining offers from both online coupon codes and online rebate sites:
You plan on ordering three books for holiday gifts. Via a search engine, you locate a coupon code that offers free shipping on orders received on www.barnesandnoble.com. Then you go to www.cutouthunger.org and locate a coupon code that offers $5 off a $50 order on purchases made on www.barnesandnoble.com. Then you go to www.upromise.com and click through to www.barnesandnoble.com, a move which earns you a 3 percent rebate or $1.50 into a college savings account. You order the three books for a total of $55.37, with free shipping. Total savings with $6 free shipping, $5 coupon code and $1.50 in college savings plan: $12.50
Find out how you can use the Internet to save money year-round by going on Nelson's Web site, www.cutouthunger.org. Nelson's Web site, created with help from Georgia Tech, is a virtual coupon organizer that is kept current with help from volunteers, who provide information on grocery sales in 18 states across the country. Nelson, of Marietta, Ga., hopes satisfied shoppers will share their savings or a few of their purchases with local charities, which are also listed online.
